Baby's First Triathlon

Ok, two posts in one day and I'll finally fess up about being pregnant now! It's been a while but we were just waiting to feel more secure about this pregnancy progressing well - and it seems to be! I'm 16 weeks now and everything seems to be normal - we feel very blessed to have this opportunity.

I've been keeping busy trying to keep working out, even though the first 13 weeks were sheer hell to try and do anything because I was so nauseated and tired. I'm still tired but it's getting better, and most all food sounds good to me again. Baby has been pretty nice to me other than the nausea!

'We' (Baby & me) completed the Alaska Bike for Women (9 miles) a few weeks ago at 13 weeks, and completed the Alaska Gold Nugget Triathlon (500 yd swim, 10 mi bike, 4.1 mi "run", or in my case, walk!) Sunday at just over 15 weeks. In both races Baby seemed to be as excited as I was to be out moving around. My favorite question during the run/walk portion of the triathlon was as I was passing another walker, she looked over at me and in a surprised voice said "Do you have a baby in there?". I guess it's becoming obvious!

Great job with the triathlon. It can't be easy doing a swim, bike and walk with an additional passenger! I can't wait to hear more stories.
