Fishing with the Fam

Dad and Matt and Dad's friend Jack came to Alaska last week for a fun fishing adventure, and despite the cold they had a great time (I hope!!). We went for a hike to Fuller Lakes (not like the death march I took Matt and Dad on last year), took a halibut charter out of Seward, and a couple of King salmon charters on the Kenai River out of Soldotna. All five of us (Dad, Matt, Jack, Dan and me) had opportunities to catch kings over the two king charters, which was awesome. I just wish I could have seen Dad reel his fish in! Bragging rights aside, I shocked even myself by pulling in the biggest king I've ever caught - a 52 pound monster. Baby helped me (with someone in the boat holding my rain suit to make sure I didn't fall in - thank you whoever you are), and I'm just happy that I was able to set the hook. Dan caught the first and biggest halibut of our group, and Dad was able to land a Silver salmon in the ocean, and a couple of Reds on the bank of the Kenai (even though they got away in the end!)

That is the best belly picture I have ever seen! Nice king, too!

Nice fish, nice belly! Baby Willman is going to be well-fed on salmon.
