Prudhoe Bay or bust

On July 12th I got the opportunity to take my dad to Prudhoe Bay on the North Slope of Alaska for a tourist visit. Since I've only been up there for work, this was a treat for me too! Dad got the royal treatment on the plane ride up - not your usual two bags of peanuts and a soda, but a huge cinnamon roll! (We got the obligatory peanuts and drinks on the southbound flight). The plane circled Denali since it was a nice day and we got some excellent photos out the window of the plane. The Slope was full of wildlife (no bears though) and SUNNY...which is more than I can say for South-central Alaska these days. Dad had to travel 800 miles north just to see the sun during his 7 day visit to AK! We had a great time on both the flights and the tour of BP's facilities, especially since we got to go back to one of the facilities where I my first job was with BP. It was great to share this experience with Dad and the other BP family members on the tour!
