30 weeks & Goodbye Green Carpet!!

Dan came back to Anchorage a little bit early on Friday and surprised me, which it was wonderful to see him sooner than expected even though it was only for one night. He came back just in time to help me pick out the colors of paint for the baby's room (we were successful this time around!). Unfortunately he had to leave Saturday morning and couldn't stay for the fun a few friends and I had remodeling the baby's room. THANK YOU Tom, Pam, Angela and Mark - you helped so much I can't even begin to describe it. The awful green carpet is no more, even though we still have a few weeks until the cork flooring arrives. Everyone helped me dismantle the room (doors off hinges, etc) and paint. It makes such a difference having a lighter floor.
It is fantastic to have gotten so much work done in such a short period of time. I banished myself outside into the fresh air - and sun I might add - and painted all the doors. I think Guapo had fun too because I left him in the backyard all day - he got to chew sticks galore!

I think it's coming up on prime blueberry picking time in AK - a bit later than usual due to the cool summer, but better late than never! My friend Mikal and I went for a short hike up near Little O'Malley and found some nice blueberry patches there, enough to fill up a couple of nalgenes. Mikal and I were talking about a huge bull moose he saw just two days ago in the same area, when we looked up the hill and saw a big cow moose coming our way. Even though we didn't have any sun, we did have a spectacular view of Denali and a nice walk for a couple hours.

I found this cute light switch plate that has the colors I like in it...hopefully Baby will like them too!

Oh, no! How could you get rid of such an amazing carpet :-) lol
Do you know is it a boy or a girl? I can't tell by the colors in the baby's room :-)
How are things anyway?

Blueberries - yum! Call me if you want to go on another little hike. I love the colors you picked out for baby's room. Yellow and green go great together!
