After Cape Lisborne we hit the interior sites of Alaska, including Indian Mountain, Sparrevohn, and Tatalina. These sites were built in the 70's and early 80's and look every part of it. It felt like a time warp walking through the front doors, and to make it a bit more surreal, the crew was sitting there watching Mork & Mindy on tv!
The work went fast so I was able to make it back to town for a weekend. It was great to be home and to spend time with Holly. We're trying to get the baby room ready, getting rid of the green carpet and adding some color to the walls. See Holly's post!
Here are some photos from my travels to the interior sites:
-The Indian Mountain lower camp-
-TV at Indian (See what I mean!)-
-Flying into Sparrevohn through a tight valley, the plane's alarm kept repeating "Terrain Ahead, Pull Up" over and over again. It's reassuring to know the charter pilots fly through here often-
-Whew! Made it-
