As big as a house...

Someday I will look back on this and laugh (I hope!). I was asked this morning at swim practice by a well-meaning woman if I felt 'as big as a house yet?". Since it was early and I still had my dream-induced sense of humor, I responded, "No, why...do I look like one?". Mistake number 1. She didn't have to verbalize her answer and I knew what she thought. Ugh. I had summoned all the confidence that I had to put on my ever tightening swim suit and get to the pool this morning, to have a nice easy swim with baby, and after this interaction I felt completely deflated. At least I was able to swim fine and still do flip turns (at 33 weeks pregnant!), and it felt pretty good regardless of others' opinions of how big I look. I haven't yet passed Dan in weight, but I am getting closer!! (I think he keeps sneaking ice cream to stay ahead of me!).

Maybe this is something all third trimester pregnant women go through. It seems that everywhere I go, people say thinks such as "Wow, when are you due?" or "Almost done, right?". When I tell them I've got about two months left most of them look at me in amazement and say something like "Are you sure it isn't twins?" or "That's going to be a BIG baby!". What is slightly troubling is that many of these 'people' are older women who may have also given birth, so I have to ask myself if maybe they know something I don't...

No photo at this time but maybe I'll get Dan to take one so everyone can see just how big I have gotten...

Here's the photo update from our walk near Potter's Marsh!

Dan came home from his trip around the state on Thursday and it's great having him around. We spent much of the weekend working on the nursery, finishing the painting and getting ready to install the cork floor. The crib hopefully will be set up by next weekend just in time for my sister to arrive! Safe travels to Alaska Darci!!

...yep! you'll laugh at it one of these days.

The "any day now?" questions came at 24 weeks for me. I usually just did a lot of air-punching once the inquirer got off the elevator!

I got those same questions during that time. I just smiled and said something nice to the people. I have one more shirt to lend you!

Hey kiddos!!! Wow, everything looks like it is coming together great... love the colors/decor of the nursery - I KNOW baby will love it! Take care and keep the photos coming. See you in 6 months or less... can't wait to meet baby.
